Capsule automates Social Media Integration

Mar 7, 2012 by

Capsule have released a great new feature for social media addicts like me.  It makes it even easier to find your contacts on Social Media, and really speeds up the data entry process for you, and it takes just seconds to set up.

Log into your Capsule account and go to your Preferences (top right)

Look over to the right of the screen and you will see various options, select the Social Integrations.

You now need to connect your Social Networks, click the connect button to the right of Twitter first.

You’re now taken to Twitter to authorise the connection, you will need to log in to Twitter if you’re not already logged in.  Once authorised you are returned to Capsule and can connect to the next network on the list.  Just click connect, sign in and authorise on LinkedIn and Facebook and you are done.

Great, so we now have the integration set up but what does it actually do?

To see this in action we need to go to one of your contacts who you haven’t already completed all the social media links on, or perhaps one where you have only entered one link as you didn’t know the others.

You can now see a link icon under the name and it has a highlighted number in red to show the number of social media profiles it has found for you to connect to.  Click on this link.

As you can see Capsule has searched Flickr, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and shown the networks that it has found that you have not yet entered.  You can either add them individually or select the ‘Add all’ button at the bottom of this pop up box.

So why should you take advantage of this nifty little addition to Capsule? It now takes seconds to update social network information, compared to editing the record, typing in each individual network address, not to mention the time spent tracking down these networks.

Once they are added Capsule displays icons representing each network under the contacts name, allowing you to quickly connect through to that network.  This is great if you aren’t already connected on the network and makes it quicker to follow your contacts if required.  And in case you didn’t know, if you enter a Skype ID and click on it then it will open Skype for you and initiate a call.

If you have more than one user on your account you will each need to log in and activate this social media integration on your own accounts as it searches your individual social networks.
